Accepting these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire R&L Lancaster Concrete and Masonry to do. By browsing the site, starting at our home page or any other page, or by asking us for a quote, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

When we sign a written contract with you for a job, that contract governs the job. If something in it differs from these terms, the contract wins.

What we do

We're a masonry contractor in Lancaster, CA, and we also do concrete work. That includes foundation repair, chimney and brick repair, tuckpointing, block, brick and retaining walls, pavers, walkways, stone veneer, fireplaces and outdoor kitchens for homes in Lancaster and the cities around it. You can read more about us.

The service descriptions on this site explain our work in general terms. What we'll do on your property is set out in your written estimate and contract, because every house, wall and slab is different.

Estimates and pricing

Quotes are free, done on site, and you're under no obligation to hire us. We base each estimate on what we can see and measure at your house, the materials you choose and the access we'll have.

Some conditions only show up once the work is open, such as damaged footings, rot behind veneer or soft soil under a slab. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you and explain the change in price before we do any extra work. We won't bill you for added work you didn't approve.

An estimate is good for the period written on it, since material prices change. After that, we may need to update it.

Scheduling and cancellation

We'll give you a start date when you accept the estimate, but weather, material deliveries, inspections and curing time can move it. Wind, heat and cold all affect when mortar and concrete can be placed, so we'll call you if a date needs to shift.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us at (661) 952-4077 as soon as you can. If we've already ordered special materials for your job or started work, you may owe for those materials and the work done up to that point, as your contract describes.

Payment terms

Any deposit, progress payments and the final balance are spelled out in your written contract, along with the ways you can pay. The final payment is due when the work in the contract is complete, unless the contract says otherwise.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled. Unpaid balances may carry collection costs and any other remedies California law allows.

Our work and our guarantee

We're licensed and fully insured, and satisfaction is guaranteed on every job. If something about the finished work isn't right, tell us and we'll come back to look at it and make it right.

Any written warranty on a job is the one stated in your contract. Material makers' warranties come from the maker, and we'll pass along what they give us.

What isn't covered

Brick, stone, block and concrete are natural materials, so color, texture and shading can vary from samples and photos. Concrete also tends to get small surface cracks as it cures and settles, and that's normal, not a defect.

Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from ground movement, earthquakes, flooding, tree roots, heavy loads the work wasn't built for, changes made by others, or a lack of ordinary upkeep. The information on this website is provided as is, for general use, and we don't promise it fits your particular property.

Limits on our liability

To the extent California law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income, arising from the website or our work. Our total liability on any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn't let a business take away.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with anything, call us first. Most problems get solved quickly once we come out and look at them together.

If we can't work it out, these terms and any job we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any claim will be heard in the courts serving Los Angeles County, including small claims court where it qualifies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies. Changes don't alter a contract you've already signed with us.

If you have a question about any of this, reach us through our contact page or call (661) 952-4077.
